Mike Swain Seminar Press Release

Members of the Shotokan Karate Academy (SKA) and the International Santen Karate Association (ISKA) recently

participated in a grappling seminar conducted by Mike Swain at the Family Martial Arts of America (FMAA) Dojo in

Martinez California, on August 27, 2005.  The seminar was hosted by Sensei Tom Kubiak, Chief Instructor at the

FMAA. Sensei Swain who is a 4 time Olympian and gold medalist, instructed basic grappling and choking techniques.

SKA members who attended this event were Patricia Cooper, Kenny Canlas, Anisa Kinsey, John Kinsey,

Cindy Hellman-Wylie and Kyoshi Ricardo Llewelyn.  ISKA members from Los Banos, Sacramento and Madera also

participated in this event.  Sensei Kubiak plans to make this an annual seminar so stay tuned to our websites for

information on future events.
